This page describes how Sideco ensures products and
services supplied conform to the Customer's specified
requirements and to applicable and international codes.
Quality manual
Sideco is acting according to a quality
system designed in accordance with the applicable
parts of ISO 9001 standard. Internal specific
procedures and instructions complete rules identified
in quality manual.
Organization
Sideco have fully defined the organization and
interrelations between each office.
The quality system is constantly under control
by means of internal audits and management review.
Contract review
Each contract is reviewed by the
area manager and when necessary by the quality
manager in order to ensure that all contractual
requirements are adequately defined and documented,
and that any requirement differing from those in the
tender has been examined and met.The contract review
results are documented.
Afer satisfactory results on contract review the order
data are introduced into the computer system enabling
an efficient and updated job control.
Design
Design and design controls are not part of the
activities carried out by sideco; if required, design
activities are subcontracted to selected engineering
companies, qualified to comply with the client's requirements.
Document control
All the technical documents relating to or affecting
quality are reviewed and approved by the QA manager
or other Via authorized personnel. Revision of documents
follow the same procedure.
Purchasing
Suppliers are classified
according to the following categories:
- type A suppliers
approved by sideco based on
quality management system approved by a third
party according BS EN ISO 9000 series.
- type B supplier approved by
sideco based on satisfactory results of audits carried
out by QA rapresentative.
- type C supplier approved by
sideco on hystorical basis.
- type D supplier indicated by
client Records of the performed assessment are
filed by the quality
office. Supplier's performances
are systematically monitored. Suppliers are selected
on the basis of their ability to meet contract requirements.
All purchase orders are issued by sideco
in writing and only to prequalified
suppliers. Purchasing documents issued by sideco are
reviewed prior to issue; revision to purchase
order follow the same procedure. product
identification. An identification system is applied
by sideco for all material available in sideco warehouse.
For materials that are produced by manufacturers
according to sideco purchase order the product
identification is carried out by the supplier.
In any case and at any time it is possible
to correlate product relevant to job number and
also the material designation, heat number and batch
number, if required. activity control Activities are
carried out in accordance with applicable procedures
and instructions.
Monitoring and controlling activities
are performed during different stages, in order
to achieve and assure the required final quality.
The following activities are carried out by Sideco :
- evaluation of enquiries,
- selection of suppliers,
- issue of enquiries to suppliers,
- evaluation of offers received by suppliers
Inspection and testing
All the products are subject to inspection
, if not otherwise agreed, the examination includes visual
and dimensional check on random basis, marking verification
and review of the manufacturer's test certificates.
Calibration
Sideco has established a complete calibration and verification
programme for the measuring equipments available at
sideco warehouse. All measuring equipments have an unique
identification and clearly show their calibration status:
this ensure that only satisfactorily verified instruments
are used in operation.
The relevant documentation is reviewed by the QA manager
and it is available for review. For what
concerns inspection carried out at
manufacturer's premises, sideco uses
instruments, control and measuring
equipments of suppliers, verifying in advance
their calibration status.
Non conforming product
A non conformity report is issued as soon a non
conformance has been discovered. At sideco warehouse
there are appropriate areas, clearly identified
for storage of items found out of requirements
specified by the contract. Yellow
and red labels are applied to materials in order to
identify their status. Written procedures defines the
practice followed for follow up of non conformities
and customer complains.
Corrective and preventive actions
Non conformities, claims received from customer
and any potential cause of non conformance of
customer complains are systematically evaluated
in order to investigate causes and
evaluate possibility of recurrence.
When necessary, corrective or preventive actions
are taken. Controls are applied in order to ensure that
the required actions are taken according
to the instruction and within the stated
limits.
Storage, handling and packaging
Storage, protection, handling and packaging are
performed in
order to avoid any problem and damage to
the material during storage and transit.
Quality records
All the quality records are collected,
clearly identified, filed and stored in such
a way that it will always be possible to prove achievement
of the required quality. Quality records are stored
and kept in sideco. The retention time is established
in minimum ten years from receipt of the
order. Longer periods are established when specified
by client.
Internal audits
Internal audits are performed according
to a programme planned on a yearly basis,
and are intended to verify all the internal offices
and services. The audits are carried out by qualified
personnel in accordance with written check lists.
Audit reports are part of the management review.
Training
Training is relevant to all personnel of sideco.
Training programmes is
established by management on periodic basis.
Statistical techniques
Statistical evaluation is used for control of
non-conformities, customer
complains and control of performances of suppliers.
Certification of approval
Sideco is certified acc. to ISO 9001 ed. 2000 by BVQI for the wholesale and distribution of tubes, flanges, plates, valves and fittings in carbon steel, low and high alloyed steel and other alloys. Expediting and inspection surveiullance services
